About Me
I have many years of PR practice, currently specialising in reputation and stakeholder management. I have worked in Kigali and Kampala both as a media personality and as a corporate communications manager. Brands I have represented are not limited to Prime Insurance, Nakumatt, Millicom’s Tigo Rwanda (now Airtel Rwanda) and MTN in Rwanda. I have also managed PR and communications at MTN Uganda (through the Metropolitan Republic agency), Sheraton Kampala and Shell Vivo Energy. I have also worked on several communication programs including the Kigali City’s Master Plan and Nile Basin Initiative’s NELSAP project among others.
My PR practice has helped the creation and deliverance of some award-winning campaigns. In 2016 I was part of the team that won the 2015 PRAU ‘Best PR Crisis Manager’ for MTN Uganda. As Head of PR at Metropolitan Republic, I have worked with other marketing disciplines to apply a truly integrated 360-degree approach. I have an understanding of how to build relationships with influencers, motivation of media and driving consumer interaction with brands.
I am an accomplished journalist with over 15 years of experience. I am a specialized content developer, highly skilled with editing. I have produced for CNBC Africa (the continent’s first and most powerful business news TV brand). I have worked with ‘The New Times’ of Rwanda as Business Editor, Thomson Reuters as a correspondent and also Nation Media Group’s Daily Monitor and The East African. I have published four issues of ‘Inspire Rwanda’ Magazine and have regularly contributed to BBC’s Focus on Africa, Forbes Africa, ‘Wireless’ and Business Africa Magazine. In my free time I am a visual artist and blog on different issues particularly ICT trends.
